Maikol Martini, Sagua la Grande, Villa Clara, Cuba. He attended primary school at the José Fuertes boarding school. After high school at the ESBU José Martí, he completed his fourth year of artistic preparation at the CEPA of Santa Clara. He has participated in numerous minor events and was awarded three times in a row at the Wifredo Lam Hall of the homonymous gallery of Sagua la Grande. In 2025, at the age of 23, he completed his studies as a graduate of the Visual Arts career at the Higher Institute of Arts (ISA).
Mi obra se concibe como una autodramatización de sucesos, recreo escenas cotidianas que ocurrieron en mayor o en menor medida. Mi postura está dirigida a aprovechar lo camp, lo artificial y lo teatral en mi delirante cotidianidad; con una actitud de ironía y conformidad forzada. Me interesa llevar a cabo una narrativa unilateral para simular mi supuesta primacía, prefiero priorizar lo ornamental y lo exagerado sobre lo real o verídico. Con mi trabajo usualmente curo la inconformidad y radicalizo la normalidad; como un inconsecuente espectador analizo que hay cosas que dejé pasar y otras que tal vez debí dejar pasar.
My work is conceived as a self-dramatization of events, I recreate everyday scenes that occurred to a greater or lesser extent. My position is aimed at taking advantage of the camp, the artificial and the theatrical in my delirious daily life; with an attitude of irony and forced conformity. I am interested in carrying out a one-sided narrative to simulate my supposed primacy, I prefer to prioritize the ornamental and the exaggerated over the real or true. With my work I usually cure nonconformity and radicalize normality; As an inconsequential spectator I analyze that there are things that I let go and others that perhaps I should have let go.
